Job Scheduler

The Job Scheduler Demo allows you to:
test various Job Scheduler sample jobs LIVE.
Each job you start with the demo Job Scheduler will send a notification with a protocol to your e-mail address.
The Live Demo works with Internet Explorer (starting with version 5.5.) and Firefox.
With the Demo you can test the following:
  • automated mailing of protocols
  • issuing of job protocols from the task history
  • active management of jobs

The Job Scheduler Demo Jobs:

  1. Job MySQL Maintenance Monitor
This job takes care of maintenance tasks for the MySQL database. It can execute the ANALYZE TABLE; OPTIMIZE TABLE and REPAIR TABLE operations. These commands are available for all or for some of the database tables.
The regular execution of this operation is important for the performance of MySQL queries.

  2. Job MySQL Replication Monitor
This job controls the replication of a MySQL database master and any number of slaves. If errors occur in the replication, MySQL will create a protocol, however an automated notification from the database is not possible.
The monitoring job will check the replication functionality at regular and configurable intervals and send an notification in case of error.

  3. Job FTP put
This job organizes data transfer per FTP. It automatically transfers three files to a configurable address.

  4. Job Sanity Check
Job for resource checking - for example disk space and main storage.

  5. Job Scheduler Cleanup Files
This job automatically deletes temporary files after a designated time.

  6. Job Rotate Log
This job starts a new Job Scheduler log file and compresses older log files:
    • It is possible to avoid log files that get too large. Frequent high log level Job Scheduler activity can result in large log files.

    • It is possible to configure the frequencey of log file change and the point in time at which log files get compressed.

  7. Job Dequeue Mail
If the Job Scheduler is unable to send an e-mail (for example if the mail server can not be reached) the e-mail will be buffered and automatically resent later.
